Cool, i'll check it out. I'm quite a late starter with Leatherface, was just shocked a couple of years ago to find a band from my home town worth listening to! Although the Toy Dolls weren't too bad I suppose.

Andy, check out China Drum, too - they're from Ovingham in Northumberland, so the same area (kind of!). They were around in the mid 90s, and made two cracking albums "Goosefair" and "Self Made maniac" which are filled with awesome tunes played loud and fast. Insanely catchy, they're less full-on than Leatherface, but are well worth a listen. Nice guys, too and a top live act, who once opened the main stage at Reading. Always billed themselves as Geordie Scum...
Their final release, an album called "Diskin" under the name The Drum isn't anywhere near as good, sadly - a change of direction that didn't come off.

Funnily enough Bill McQueen (i think that's his name) from China Drum is my brother's music teacher at school these days. Haven't heard a single China Drum song though...yet

Holy green shit, that's amazing! I was involved in giving the band an early break when they played a weekend bike event organised by a magazine I worked on at the time - no one in the office could be bothered listening to all the CDs and tapes we were sent, so I got China Drum on the bill. Met them at a gig in Cambridge the following year and they were all top blokes - they put me on the China Drum guest list for life, but I never got the chance to see them again, sadly... check 'em out.
Also, check out Leatherface main man Frankie Stubbs' two other bands (who he was in while Leatherface were split between 1994 and 1999). they are Pope and Jesse. Actaully, their stuff is really hard to find (most of the Pope album is on the re-issue of Leatherface's "The Last", but the Jesse CD is long out of print). Also good, but hard to find are a couple of Frankie Stubbs solo single, a seven inch and a ten inch.
And... if you can, seek out Doctor Bison (I think Dickie Hammond was in them). Vocalist was Baz Oldfield of the Abs, and Dr Bison are (were) fantastic.
