I happen to like some rap music etc etc, but Dizzee Rascal and 50 Pence are crap in my eyes.. I've complained about the crap rock bands too... I can't stand The White Stripes. Seriously the line up this year isn't as good as previous years.
Looks like Download got all the decent bands this year... Just hope the special guests are decent...

I have a feeling that mean fiddler have been trying to give Reading a distinctive 'flavour' that's a bit different to the V festivals and T in the Park, hence why the dance line up at reading has been quite underground and non-main stream the last couple of years. The same goes for things like the Concrete Jungle stage, which i personally think is excellent and pretty much one-of-a-kind at a UK festival. The down side to picking the less well known/more distinctive acts, is that it's hard to please everyone, especially when such bands enveritably have overall smaller fanbases, than the bigger groups.....

I agree with that. I don't know about this years' bands being more distinctive though. The concrete jungle stage is cool but if they're trying to provide a mini version of the Warped Tour in America I would suggest a bit more diversity rather than just paying Lagwagon and a lot of bands that sound like Lagwagon every year. I mean stuff that isn't skate/ska punk. Turbonegro were great last year for example.
