Don't forget the booking fee and postage on top - closer to 170 after they have finished with us (first time I went it was 75 quid and that was only 1999 lol)

Given up binge drinking, Dan?! You'll be giving up swearing next...
Got to say, the thought of yet another Reading isn't doing much for me, either. Melvin Benn might say this year will "blow everything else out of the water" but then, he would, wouldn't he? Too many festivals, too few acts actually worthy of headlining anything bigger than a provincial theatre.
Wonder what the capacity is going to be this year, too? I've had an email announcing there will be no Orange car park, so I expect we'll be over the river again, and that the camping will be as crowded/shit as last year.
You know (and I know how this sounds) it was much better when we were younger...

You know (and I know how this sounds) it was much better when we were younger... aye. We have our first 'official' confirmed headliner then - The Killers

I dunno what it is, maybe the relief of not having to actually buy a ticket later (go pre-sale!) or maybe just in a good mood, but i'm really looking foward to this year.
Assuming there's no great shock in headliners (Rage, Killers, Metallica surely?) then it means i'll actually be going to the main stage this year, which will be a pleasent change.
As always though, it's not about the bands, but the tradition of the thing. This will be my sixth year and its looking like all the regulars will be going. We're all finishing uni this year and as such probably gonna end up more scattered out than ever (it's somewhat remarkable we haven't drifted being at different unis already.) I think it'll be a good way to mark the end of (yet another) era, regressing (to quote mark) to drunken sixteen year olds at a house party doing stupid shit that we really should have outgrown by now.
