I like the new 'History' section of the official website - shows a load of lineup posters back to 1972. What was wrong with 2001 though?
Oh, and for the sake of this thread, The Killers have been confirmed. More to come...

I haven't seen tickets on sale in HMV for years. Always liked getting it in my hand in exchange for cash... I reckon there's enough bands so far to keep my interest going for this summer: QOTSA, Serj, Raconteurs, Metallica, Tenacious D and Slipknot should be plenty to fit in between pub crawls and fine foods.

"READING & LEEDS WEEKEND TICKETS SELL OUT 01.04.2008
A total of 200,000 tickets sold in 24 hours marks this year's tenth anniversary for Leeds and twentieth for Reading as an extra special event.
The UK’s only three day, dual site festival is headlined this year by Rage Against The Machine, The Killers and Metallica with a host of exclusive performances, huge names and the coolest up and coming bands over six stages.
Melvin Benn, Managing Director of Festival Republic said, “'I am over the moon! Absolutely thrilled. 20th year since we took over Reading after it had been bankrupt. 10th year since we created Leeds. The UK's biggest selling festival with the best bill on the planet this year sells out in less than 2 hours. Whoever is talking about a slump in festival popularity is talking rubbish. Long live Reading and Leeds!'”
Keep your eyes peeled for further announcements to the bill and get ready for the greatest rock n' roll show on earth over the August Bank holiday."
Or put another way.. that's £31 million ticket revenue and £1.4 million in booking fees in 1 day. Mmm.

I think the crucial point is 200,000 tickets - how crowded is it going to be if that's the case? Unless there's a little bit of exaggeration. Last year, Reading had 80,000 capacity. If Melvin's telling the truth, it must be up by 20,000. Still, there'll be more room in the pub while all the kids are watching bands...

I managed to get tickets for sunday only on day of release. as far as i'm aware they are still available. I think maybe the 200k tix sold includes all the event - weekend for both sites, and day tickets sold also. so in my line of thinking - 80k each site for weekend, 20k each site for day tickets... not so bad i feel
just my o.o2 on the subject

"Back on sale"? Hmmm, so how "sold out" is it? There'll be further "releases" of tickets for sure.
