OK, you'll need a fast connection for this (it's 97.5megs), but some bloke called Stuart has compiled a CD's worth of short songs - 100 in total. Not thrashy stuff, either, but a really, really cool, eclectic selection, ranging from Billy Bragg to the Pixies to Napalm Death (of course!) and including a hilarious mash-up/bootleg of "Gay Bar" and the "Benny Hill" theme.. I urge you to download it if you have the time! The URL: worldofstuart.excellentcontent.com/100.htm

Songs 99 and 100 are combined in the same mp3 file - it's titled "The Goodbye Song - You Suffer." "The Goodbye Song" is by Animaniacs, while "You Suffer" is the one second burst of guitar and drums at the end - and that bit is by Napalm Death. It was originally on the world's shortest single (two tracks, both one second long... forgot who the other track was by and am too lazy to waddle downstairs and get the record out).

shear Brilliance, I just downloaded it! Possibly the oddest collection of songs I have ever heard! I highly recommend anyone with a BB connection gets it ;D I have also come up with a new drinking game for reading based on this album..... A bit like a Beer centurion where you have to drink a shot of beer every minute for 100 mins, but instead you have to drink on every song, 100 shots in 80 minutes! You could do it with wine, but you'd have got through 3 1/2 bottles each by the end.....

Someone has been inspired by the collection on the World Of Sturat site. There's some duplication, but here's another 100 songs: davidguy.brinkster.net/titles.htmlEDIT: By the way, Graham, the reason there are only 99 tracks in the original download is that CDs apparently have a 99-track limit, so two had to be combined to fit on.

have stuck Stuart's 100 on the mp3 player with a very eclectic mix of 400 others (from Howlin' Wolf through Madonna <ooer> to Killing Joke, hit the shuffle all switch and it's fantastic. Those tiny tracks make brilliant bridges between the vastly varied styles.

Hehe I have that Napalm Death song on the bbc sessions cd. The echo at the end is longer than the actual song! I'll definitely download this tomorrow when I have the time.
I have a cd called 'short music for short people' that has 101 30-second punk songs on it which is pretty cool.

Apparently it's on soulseek. See the original link for more info. basically, there were bandwidth issues due to the huge number of downloads.

I reckon it's pretty useful, especially for the more obscure things like the 100 songs. Also none of the popular stuff is fake. Kazaa seems to be filled with fake stuff now. You can sort of bookmark the users with your favourite bands on and download from them all the time too. So aye it's good.

an secodn of all im guessin its free, through an through no hiddenpayments an shit? Yeah, no problems there, no spyware either. But you have to be careful to get the one at www.slsknet.org/download.htmland not at soulseek.com because that is a weird german one that puts adverts on your computer and isn't free. So er, avoid that one.
