I saw Saxon in 1981 when they supported Nazerath at the hammersmith Odeon.
How many original members do they have ?

Nigel Glockler, paul Quinn & of course Biff are still in the band. I'm a veteran of the NWOBHM myself but never really got Saxon until seeing them at Graspop a few years back, they really are on top form at the moment.

D'you think, given the current state of the world, that they'll be playing "Crusader" then?

Where does Crusader fit into the Saxon ouevre, they're doing the 'Night out with the boys' tour which means the first 4 albums...I'm ashamed to say I'm not sure that includes crusader...it was 1984 so it must be fairly close.

Sadly they did feel the need to play Crusader.
Being St. George's Day it all got a bit jingoistic which was a shame as the band were on top form.
I can live with chants of Eng-er-land, though I'd rather not but they seemed to have some mixed up & vague freedom of speech thing going on re: the Dubai ban.
Surely the point is that yes Crusader has very politically dodgy lyrics but the main problem is that compared to everything else they played last night it's just a shit song so why bother playing it?

Reg man, you are not wanna miss this...as someone who bought the Crusader LP for it's 'now legendary' cover this has to be a dream come true. The original artwork is now available as a 'limited edition' print...hell they're only making 500. They'll be double mounted and ready for framing & all that for just £167 + p&p. Reckon I'll get a couple, y'know one for best & another as an investment! Check it out here www.saxon747.com/frame.htmlKeep the faith!!

Bastards have gone & postponed their tour...that is so unlike them.
Still it means I can go see the Otway & Barrett reunion at the 100 Club.
Hurrah
