Looks like myself & Al will be missing another year Was tempted to go along for the Sunday, but over £95 for a ticket is silly money. Lineup is a bit weak again I thought. Bring back the glory days of 2000-2005!

I really don't want to see more than a couple of the bands announced so far... Instead, I'm heading to Download for The Darkness!

Really disappointed with the lineup this year . Hopefully it'll get better but the only bands I'm excited about are Muse, The Joy Formidable, Madness and The Streets. Oh and Henry Rollins on the comedy stage.
Far too many repeat bookings of bands that have played 3 or 4 years running now. And does Frank Turner really have nothing better with his bank holiday weekend than bore people in a field?
I would be tempted not to bother this year, but I got my ticket right right after last years fest (it was awesome, fully meant to write a review) and now its a bit late to change my mind. Very tempted by Download too for the first time since '08, just waiting to see what the next few announcements bring.

Another missed year for me, at prices like this I doubt I'll bother again...day tickets now cost near enough what I payed for a weekend ticket less than a decade ago! Think I'll use the money to go to two or three smaller events instead, they overshadowed Reading the last few times I went anyway.
As for the lineup, well maybe its just an effect of having been doing this music lark a fair old while but there's precious few bands playing that I like that I've not seen before, only exceptions being Madness and Janes addiction. There's enough I like, and the Lock up hasn't even been announced yet, that if I did go I'd probably have a decent time...on the music side of things at least!
...did not realise The Darkness were playing Download! I Really don't have the cash to go unfortunatly...hopefully some more shows after!

Oh and do people think its good or bad that its almost 72 hours since tickets went on sale and they're still not sold out?
...and who the fuck are 'The national?' Does it make me old to be clueless about a band deemed big enough to be third from top of the main stage?

Jeez yeah, still on sale now. Last time I went in 2009 they sold out in less than an hour if I recall. Finally gone too far with the prices? As you say, it was going to cost us for a day almost what we paid for the weekend in 2000. Long live Reading without us!

And there are STILL tickets available. You'd hope that this would make the organisers think carefully about next year's line-up, but I expect this year will still be a sell-out, but that it'll take a little longer to shift all the tickets.
Download is The Darkness' comeback gig - and I can't wait. Not sure what I'm going to do about Elliott, but I'm sure someone will be able to look after him once they realise just how important it is that I spend an evening watching a bloke in a catsuit singing falsetto in a field...

Genius! Was really chuffed myself when I heard they were making a comeback. Nice work on the downloads...

And 1 week later they're still on sale?! What's going on? The prices are pretty silly.

High prices and crap line-up have finally stopped the on-sale day feeding frenzy, I think! Maybe the won't be the usual extortionate eBay prices, either...

I wasn't too impressed with teh line-up either, I think there are maybe 3 or 4 bands I'd like to see over the entire weekend (so far). I was glad to see some comedy acts on the poster though. Are they bringing back the comedy tent?

Yep, still on sale. They're now offering the ability to pay for tickets in 'installments'. Sad times.
Might go down in August and give a desperate tout a tenner to see Muse.

Fair few tickets going buy it now on ebay for around the 150 mark. I'm considering just showing up on the Friday and seeing how cheap I can acquire one from a tout, there's actually rather a lot I wouldn't mind seeing on the lock up.
