I remember mid 90's at Reading me and mate Mark arrived Thursday night nice and early and passed the time at the adjoining funfair.Hey presto we wins a goldfish on one of the stalls. The rest of the festie was dedicated to caring for our new friend. We nips off to town to find a petshop for some goldfish food.We puts him in a nice big ice cream tub with lots of water,in the shade of the footwell of Marks car.Friday he's fine, also Saturday.Alas,Sunday morning, after awakening we discover him floating on the top - dead.Distraught we puts him in a empty cigarette packet and cremates him near the railway line.On passing the Samaritans tent we mention it to the chap sitting outside with no friends. He becomes as distraught as us and wants us to talk about it.The final straw,we get into the arena and have a look in the tent and a band called Animals That Swim are playing. PS excellent site, brings back the memories.
