Someone else says they did that the year before too....but that they're not doing it this year. It's all a bit confusing. Maybe you could ring mf and ask them? I dunno what else to suggest.

Sum twat stole my ticket last year, so i got one at the gate. I wouldnt say that there is going to be 100% chance of it happening this year but the tout were quite reasonable, they offered me a weekend one for £100, £5 less that face value!

yes it's true, each year from 2000 onwards at least one person has purchased one at the box office on either the thursday and the friday

Well when i got my ticket, a tout said a high figure and i said that i could get them at the box office so he agreed a lower price! Just say to a tout that someone offered you one for less that what they are offering!

its a requirement for mean fiddler to provide a certain amount of tickets on the gate of the venue for them to get a permit to hold the event.

It's to counteract touts and suchlike...
If you're worried you could always get a friend who has a ticket to go first thing on thursday, and call you if there are tickets at the box office.

its a requirement for mean fiddler to provide a certain amount of tickets on the gate of the venue for them to get a permit to hold the event. Is that true adm? If so (and I don't know myself) then I guess an early arrival would be advisable. I know Kev and I turned up ticcket-less in 1991 and were able to buy them from a security guy at 1.30 in the morning, but I think you'd have to queue at the box office these days. Also, nearer the time, perhaps there'll be a way that people who have spares (through mates not being able to go etc) can sell to the ticketless via this forum as a way of helping people out. Or you could make a fat profit on ebay...

Well, you can't stop people floggin 'em on ebay, but I think most people round these parts are sympathetic to the plight of fellow festie-goers and understand the desire to get a ticket. If I had a spare, I'd offer it through here, perhaps with payment by paypal or something like that. Any ideas?

maybe set up a sticky post at the top of the site for people who want to sell stuff, tickets, memorabelia etc., but as you say only allow those to sell/buy thru paypal with a suiotable ebay-like disclaimer for any transactyions that take place. atleats then all the sale stuff will take place in one area of the forum, making it easy for those who want to buy stuff to find where it is

That's a very good idea. It'd be quite good if MF would allow those with spare tickets to sell them back to MF at the gate....and advertise that they actually sell tickets 'on the day' as it were. That would help out those who are offered pants by the touts for their tickets and also therefore help combat touting.
