Blabbermouth reports that Chris Cornell has 'quit' Audioslave so I guess the RATM thing will be longish term.
He quotes the usual personality & musical clashes & just three weeks after the whole of the rest of his band announce they're working with someone else...that's telling 'em!

I still reckon that the smashing pumpkins are gonna play...a smashing pumpkins / manics / chilli's lineup wouldn't be awful, a step up from last year at least.

Well, I wouldn't wanna see any of them but I guess at my time of life I have to accept that I'm not exactly the target audience.
To be honest i'm not that arsed, for me these days Reading is about catching up with mates, getting drunk, having some good scoff in caversham & checking out a few bands that i wouldn't bother paying for in London...pretty much in that order.
If I really like a band I'd rather see 'em indoors anyway so fessies are more about mooching round the site catching bits & pieces & trying to remember which ones it was that were good so I can see 'em in a proper venue later.
Back in '82 I watched every single band that played but that was quarter of a century ago!!

Nah I wasn't ripping on people's musical tastes, just havin a cheap shot based on the fact I know Danko's loved on here. ;D There's no hate here, i've been using these good forums for seven bloody years now, that really dates me Hopefully the Manics will play, cracking band who'd do pretty well with a late evening slot (or possibly headline the Radio One stage when some crap headliners play). Hopefully they'll play Faster as well, and not that infernal acoustic version.

Apparently NME leaked the headliners last week, according to them its going to be Razorlight on Friday, Red Hot Chilli Peppers on Saturday and Smashing Pumpkins on Sunday.
I guess we'll have to wait and see but if I remember rightly, they tend to be right about these things.
