I'm well aware of your disdain for RATM Reg so don;t bring the mood down in this thread. But yeah, RATM are officially back together after a seven year hiatus. They've been confirmed to headline the Coachella festival and so far it's billed as a one off. But I doubt that'll be the case. Any thoughts, remarks, possibilities they'll play Reading? Here's hoping. And just to reiterrate, keep yer mits off Reg! ;D

On behalf of Reg could I just point out that they were shite when they played at Reading back in the 90s.
Sorry, couldn't help myself.
You may now get back to being excited while me & Reg plan which restaurant to visit that evening.

I have 2 thoughts on this. The first being that RATM were lame the first time around and that this reunion means nothing to me. The second being that thank God Audioslave aren't likely to show up at any festivals.

Well, what a load of utterly pointless replies. My original post clearly asked those who didn't like RATM to keep their points to themselves, but alas people either can't read or are too stupid to follow simple requests. Ah well. I find it hard to believe how so many of you can take the moral highground regarding tastes in music bearing in mind some of the shit bands a few of you like. But hey, I keep my opinions to myself if I have nothing good to say. There's no wonder this place is empty compared to what it used to be like six or seven years ago. Those were the days.

Let's hope it busies up again. The announcement date of bands is always a high-point. Actually, a lot of those replies are pro-RATM. Never my cup of tea, but I think that era passed me by. And I seem to recall the drummer playing with his back to the crowd one year, which struck me as rather silly. Or was that someone else. Can't see them as headliners, though. Are they recording? Or just doing some shows? My money's still on the Manics as one headliner.

I caught a little bit of them last time & was mightily disappointed & that's from a stand point of thinking they sucked anyway.
I thought if they did it really overblown like their records can be they might have their moments but they played just as a three piece & sounded weak as piss plus they had loadsa crappy 'political' vids going on which didn't really go with the lame corporate rock they were making.
I actually played with the manics while Richie was still alive & during the sound check James told the sound man to turn his guitar up & richie's down so low that you could barely hear it. Richie actually contributed nothing to their live sound.
Even then, when the gig was shown on the telly they overdubbed the record.....lightweights.

Oh, and another thing.
I don't see how Moz can attack my taste in music. Why, in the next two weeks I'm going to see both Saxon AND Krokus!
"Can You Hear Your Bed Side Radiooooo"...they don't write 'em like that anymore.
