I have a dilemma - in September this year my partner and I are going to be trekking Mount Kilimanjaro to try and raise £6000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital. This involves much training - much dieting and drinking much much much much less. I didn't go to any festivals last year and i am desperate to get back to Reading this year - however..... if i go i can't drink, eat crap or generally do any of the fun stuff i usually do. Do i give in and just train this train this year or is there some way of combining the 2? I need help to decide - i also need help to reach my target! If anyone has any ideas on how i can make it through Reading or just wants to sponsor me please let me know! You can get more details on the trek by going to www.justgiving.com/bennettandjenny Every £1 helps!

Surely one weekend off the training wouldn't do much harm? Failing that, there's always willpower...

It would have to be the will power route and my other thought is would it be as fun..... !!!

you might find that you have more fun when you are not drinking

lol ;D just trying to get the guy to look on the bright side. I mean have you ever spent a festival sober? it might be awesome. I mean can you imagine how scary the evenings would be if your senses werent numbed by alchol. It would all be very surreal. Plus you would get to remember what the headliners were like

I was waiting for Dan to comment... Being sober for four days at Reading? Can't say it appeals to me. Perhaps if it was sunny all the time, but not in the usual cold, wet conditions.

yeah i think drunkedness is mandatory at festies if only to tolerate the random retards you come across... but yes reading sober would be a surreal experience indeed!
