There's a news item on the official website saying Gazebos (and, presumably, all other non-tent like awnings and covers) are banned in the Green, Yellow and Purple campsites this year, here's the explanation from MF "Camping space on site is sufficient for everyone but by bringing gazebos, people are using up double the amount of space they should be - which cramps everyone's style. This year we are going to have to change things around and so from now on we are restricting gazebos to the following campsites, brown, red and white - but not in green, yellow and purple camping. Anyone setting them up in these areas will have them taken down by campsite staff." Bit Draconian if you ask me....

Fair enough I guess. Some peeps were taking the piss by covering a several tent size area in the middle of their camp last year...

Of course, there's no possibility that MF are taking the piss by upping the festival capacity every year without enlarging the camping areas or improving the facilities, is there... they'll take a look at gazebo-free campsites and decide there's room for another 5000 people next year...

And why not restrict them in every campsite? After all, if people want to take a gazebo, they'll just go to the campsites where they're allowed, taking up just as much space as they would anyway, and forcing people to the other sites...

They dont seem to be doing the pre-ordering of beer for the carry-out bar this year. Anyone know otherwise? Was very handy last year.

now if i have a campsite set up a circle of tents and a living area in the middle where NO1 is going to camp then whats the problem in having a Gazebo up? i mean its not like ne1 is randomly going to camp in the middle of our camp circle of tents. I get what MF are saying but do they not know how this works 4 alot of people lol. O well im going wednesday anway so it dont matter. Still no idea which campsite im going to go in mind but im sure we will work it out nearer the time lol

Dave, got the following of the MF site "The Carling Carry Out bar has now moved from the Box Office area and is now based in the Purple Cafe area in the purple campsite."
it's still there, think you'll pay there instead of online....

Think we should find a campsite near the purple 24hr cafe bit like last year, be able to buy beer, firewood and food there this year!
