I don't think I remember a past festival where the weather forecasts been as all over the place as this year, it's swung from sunny and nice (25 degrees!) to wet and miserable and back again several times, we just won't know till we get there.....

This is the Met Office's 6-15 day forecast (take with an almighty pinch of salt!), sounding promising........
UK Outlook for Tuesday 21 Aug 2007 to Thursday 30 Aug 2007:
Pressure is expected to have built across central and southern parts of the United Kingdom by Tuesday and this promises to provide southern and central parts a good deal of dry weather with increasing amounts of sunshine. Temperatures are also expected to make a recovery, near normal on Tuesday but rather above towards the weekend. Further north, it will be more unsettled, however, with some wet and windy weather, the rain perhaps heavy in the far north, temperatures near or a little below average. In the longer term, there is a suggestion of predominantly dry and warm weather for a time, although there may still be some rain or showers at times, especially in the north and, later, there is a risk of a return of more generally unsettled conditions.

And now on Metcheck, no rain til monday!
Considering that they are making this shit up you have to admire the amount of making shit up that they are doing...wonderful work ethic.
The Beeb is the same I checked their site before leaving work to be told it was clear blue sky & bright sunshine.
Five minutes later I walked out to slate grey skies & rain.

Sounds promising. They've obviously seen something over there at the met-office (i.e. high pressure area) as thats quite a change from this mornings forecast for next week. Looking at the satellites, theres a big front coming over this weekend.. but then a nice big clear space behind it across the atlantic.

Still looks good...
"UK Outlook for Wednesday 22 Aug 2007 to Friday 31 Aug 2007: High pressure will cover much of the UK at first, and the weather is expected to be mainly fine and dry. A few isolated showers are possible in the southeast at first, and some rain may affect northwestern parts, especially over high ground. Sunny spells will be increasingly likely towards the weekend and temperatures in the sunshine will be a little above average. The weekend will be mainly dry in many places, but rain could affect northern parts and this could be persistent across windward slopes. Temperatures will be on the warm side in the sunnier south, but rather cool in the north. Rain could return later in the period, chiefly to western Scotland and southeast England.

well i refuse to hold out any hope, and shall reserve my judgement until i get there on thursday and are setting up my tent when i proclaim something along the lines of 'looks like the weather's not gonna be too bad...'
...and that is the point it shall rain...and i shall shed a solitary tear

Not looking so good on Thursday now, but still not bad.
Think the various forecasting models are struggling to figure out how fast the high pressure they're expecting is gonna fill in from the Atlantic.....
