Check out the new Radio One schedules ( www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/schedule/july04.shtml). It's going all dancy and R n B-y on our asses in the evenings. Lamacq and Peel are being shunted into the graveyard slots so wankers with 16x9s and subs in the boots of their Golf GTis can have more bangin' tunes to piss the rest of us off with. We pay for the BBC, too, don't we. Tossers, the lot of 'em. It's like they just don't CARE about all the good work Peel's done down the years - now even fewer people will catch his excellent shows.

It was bad enough as it was! That Zane Lowe guy they got to replace Steve Lamacq during the week is terrible. The only show I listen to now is John Peel. After Mark and Lard left there isn't a single interesting person talking between the terrible records in the daytime either. The punk show moving was a step in the right direction I suppose but there's hardly any variation in today's 'punk scene'. It's either naff shouty emo or blink182y stuff. The 'alternative' show seems to be working with nme and major labels to bring us the most lame and derivative bands ever too. Exam tomorrow, good to have a rant

Its all good the Lock Up is moving to 9pm Tuesday night from July its going to rule, used to be 2am Monday nght Tuesday morning time. Good UK underground punk on radio at a decent time can only be a good thing for the bands.

Yeah, the lock-up moving is cool cos it's a pretty good show. Would have liked to see the Rock Show get an earlier slot though. Hey at least they've got rid of Dave Pearce, the man is a cock.

wow they really have shaken up the schedule on week nights, I think it's still cool, with more of the alternative shows on a bit earlier, and old peely's still at a socialable hour.

what the BBC dont seem to get is that the alternative music scene is much bigger every year mainstream wise. So they just tryin 2 push it out because they dont want it there? well all they will do is lose listeners

how is this screwing over Alternative music anyways? They've got Colin & Edith in the afternoons, got rid of Dave Pearce. It's only 2 hours on a Wednesday and Thursday to avoid. Not like a few years ago when a few coked up dance fans ran the whole station and ratings plummeted.
