Hyperbole overload! "Arena of rock history..." indeed. "20th year of the modern Reading Festival..." - so nothing before Mean Fiddler counts, eh?
Still, The Kills should be worth checking out, but I saw Black Kids at Wireless last week - took less than one song to see how shite they were. Take a trip to the bar when they're on... Dunno about the others, mind. Anyone got any ideas?

Black Tide for sure, only caught a coupla songs at Download but was impressed. Otherwise its looking like a lot of record company buy ons to me.
A few bigish names there but a lot of the usual signed but with sod all out kinda stuff.
And no Hot Leg...bugger.

I'm looking forward to seeing Black Tide, I missed them at Download due to them clashing with Zebrahead. Fighting With Wire were pretty good at Download too, so I will be checking them out again. Of the other bands, ummm, Fight Like Apes sound pretty good but nothing else takes my fancy.
