Picked this up off the Virtual Festivals website.... Might make camping on the other side of the river more attractive now!
Reading Festival is set to erect a bridge over the Thames to allow festival-goers easier access to the main arena from the campsite across the river. In previous years revellers have had to cross the water using a fleet of ferries, but organisers have admitted that it 'took a while'.
Speaking to NME.com festival organiser Melvin Benn said: "I've got this campsite on the other side of the Thames in Reading, I've been using it for two or three years now and ferrying people across the river from that campsite, which is OK but doesn't work quite so well - it took a while.
"This year I've decided to go for it and actually build a bridge across the Thames which is great, it means the access is so straightforward. It gives festival-goers the opportunity to camp with so much more space and you don't have to bother with waiting for a boat to get across."

It had better be a wide bridge, given the capacity of that car park...

is this definitely going to happen?
does this mean a bridge from white car park to the campsite?
i can't make it till wednesday night and don't fancy a 4 hour queue in the pissing rain again like last year for a ferry!
