The Rasmus? lol. They sound like Savage Garden. I'd compare them to 1 hit wonder main stage bands like OPM or Junior Senior for sure.
Friday and Saturday dont look too bad on the main stage. Doubt I will even go near it on the Sunday until Green Day though. Maybe catch Thrice. They really look to have slashed their budget this year.

They really look to have slashed their budget this year. That's what I thought. The main stage could almost be the radio 1 stage from years past I reckon. Either that or i'm just getting old and haven't realised these bands have huge legions of fans.

Since I'm not going this year due to the rubbish lineup I'm going to sulk because I'd love to the Dropkicks! I have got to ask myself though, what sort of crap is going to make the concrete jungle this year since most notable bands played it last year and they've put the Dropkicks on main stage along with Reel Big Fish and Thrice.
I mean I'm quite certain Bad Religion aren't going to play, neither are The Vandals. Ataris might play again. I think we're going to see a lot more lesser known bands playing it this year.

OK...time to rant about the Concrete Jungle Tent.....all the bands I wanna see usually play in it, and I got all excited about certain bands last year and hey guess what? We couldn't get near the fucking thing!! I'm sure we would have stood a chance of at least getting a toe inside if all those friggin fast food vans hadn't been parked right round the damn tent and all the sides hadn't been down. GRRRRR made me so mad! I hope they sort that out for this year cus I'm sure it was much more open the year before...

Mar, you should have been in there for Turbonegro! Awesome! We managed to get into the Radio 1 tent for Hundred Reasons last year....but of course the poor fucking kids couldn't see much. Reckon I'd get away with asking if we can park them up on the disabled ramp so they could at least see the fucking stage? lol

Yup, Thursday have been confirmed to open the main stage on Saturday at Reading, Sunday at Leeds.
Now far be it for me to be pessemistic, but, while there's some strength at the very top of the bill, it's pretty weak in the middle order and below. Let's hope the tents throw up some interesting stuff.
So far, there's just three main stage bands I'm really bothered about (White Stripes, Morrissey, The Darkness - possibly the Hives). And only Supergrass in the Radio One tent.
Fingers crossed...

I'm a bit blah really about the main stage acts in general....while there are acts I wanna see on there over the weekend there are an awful lot there that i'm a little either confused as to why the hell they're there and also disappointed in. But I know not everyone can be happy about everything so....meh. I'm not sure any of them are really big though...they didnt' exactly put the boat out for any of them did they this year? LOL

First of all I think they should make the Concrete Jungle tent a lot bigger; last year we had to miss loadsa bands and just made it in for The Ataris. And the fast food vans outside annoyed me too cuz there's plenty of other space for them and they shouldn't get parked outside tents that loads of people go to... just causes congestion.
Also the disco biscuit tent, sorry, dance stage, should be moved right to the back of the arena cuz all I could hear last year was the crap "music" from that thing whilst I was trying to hear System of a Down.

Yeah I noticed the 'cross talk' between stages for the first time last year. I'm also pretty sure its because the PA System for the main stage has been getting less powerful each year, maybe pressure from locals or whatever. The crowd for F4AF in the concrete jungle was crazy last year too.. was a right struggle to even get to the tent entrance

i had to be in the concrete jungle stage at 11.15 to get in to see funeral for a friend last year as for this years line-up youve only got to see that the darkness are headlining reading but not t in the park. surely reading is sposed to be the premier music festival in the coutnry and yet theyve got a band headlining that isnt headlining another festival. as someone said budget has very much been cut saying that most of the bands that are playing i like so i wont be complaining in august

Yeah I know what you mean... the sound kept going really bad last year didn't it? Went quiet, then got louder again.. we were quite far back for some of the bands and the sound just kept almost disappearing some times.... that really sucked.... Mean Fiddler, sort your PAs out....
