Thanks Punktastic and Andy! I'll "sticky" this topic for the moment so everyone sees it.
Hmm, not sure about the quality of some of those additions. The Rasmus? Ferchrissakes! Caught them on TOTP the other day and it's the usual scenario of one hit gaining a band a festival slot that's otherwise denied to a far more deserving act.
Guess who's getting very drunk this Reading?!

Agreed about the concrete jungle thing. It seems a bit like a lot of these bands are a bit too high up the bill to me too. The Dropkick Murphys seem really high up especially considering they are still playing the same venues as they did three years ago when they were on in the middle of the day in the Concrete Jungle.
The Rasmus are this year's (less likeable and that's saying something) Junior Senior! Anyway there's plently of space to fit some good quality stuff in on the other stages.

Woooohooooo!! Rasmus and Thrice sound good to me. Bollocks to most of the rest of the new additions. Still it's all about personal opinions isn't it?

Thanks for posting that link btw....most interesting. I'm thinking that Friday and Sunday are looking quite good now. Saturday is kinda pants though. And if STory of the Year are announced that'd make my weekend complete.

If I remember correctly every year theres a day with nothing on that I want to watch on the main stage and normaly it is the staurday, but I dont mind to much as the Concrete Jungle stage is there and the skate boarding and stuff to watch.
Dropkick Murpheys and Taking Back Sunday im looking forward to the most I think.

i refer you to 2003, the darkness.... erm.. sound familiar?? N.B. its only an opinion!Well, quite, but I think Mar hit the nail firmly on the head. The Darkness had gained a lot of exposure prior to Reading/Leeds and worked their way up from bottom of the bill as the buzz grew. It'll be interesting to see if they debut any new stuff, or whether they just play the album and all the B-sides in order to make a headline-length set. They ought to have time to write some new stuff, after all, they're doing bugger-all else this year in the UK, and will probably need an album by early 2005 to keep everyone happy.

Yeah, they're certain to play some new stuff.. they've pretty much toured 'permission to land' to death now, and I think I read somewhere that Justin had said they'd already got some stuff down for the next album ;D Looks like 50 posts is a 'junior' then Trig ..now if only posts had been transfered from the old forum, I'd be a 'grand old master guru' or something, sigh
